THE DREAM JOURNAL
OF L. CARUANA

THE ABYSS
Toronto, Jan 26, 1991

I dreamt that the very bed I'm sleeping in is surrounded on all sides by a tremendous abyss, hundreds of miles deep. It is so deep that strong currents of wind are created all around me as the air and mist are being sucked down into its infinite emptiness.
I try to raise my head and look over the edge of the bed, but the wind is so powerful that I risk being pulled into it. As well, the action makes me tremendously dizzy. I am overcome by fear.

      I wake up.
